Statement of Significance
Architecturally, superficially original and typical example of an early pastoral homestead which is distinguished by the fine detailing at the eaves and of the verandah columns: of regional importance. Historically, of regional and local importance as home of a regionally prominent person (Davies) who was not initially a landowner, as were most of the early Essendon estate owners, but exemplifies the later Settlement stage where former Nth Melbourne and associated industrial areas identities sought a rural retreat in Essendon.
