KILLINGWORTH RUINS COMPLEX - History
During the 1850's the homestead was already constructed. There were several bark huts for shephers on the run along with sheep yards. Aunt Jenny's Hut on site of Kimmel Park, Muddy Creek. Constructed several chock and log fences, along bourndary of Balham Hills, passing over the Native Dog Gap.
In 1883 wire fences were being erected. Wire attached to pposts by staples made from the wire. Holes were bored in the posts with gimlets. Ker invested money in brace and bit tools for fenching but, according to Gordon (1954: 28) the wire fencing was not ereceted.
In 1888 constructed a brick building to replace weatherboard section of homestead. Brick section remains unaltered. Constructed brick stable (now in ruinous condition) at rear of homestead.
WWII taken over for soldier settlement.

KILLINGWORTH RUINS COMPLEX - Heritage Inventory Description
Ruinous farmstead building & associated structural/artefactual deposits located on scenic knoll overlooking flood plain & Goulburn River.
Ruins, artefact (ceramic & bottle glass, brick) scatters down ridgeline & in drainage channel. Brick & cement-lined well, remnant fence posts, drainage pipes (remain in situ), plantings, garden edgings (rocks), burials.
