Outstanding example of species
This tree is an attractive and well shaped specimen located near the entrance of the arboretum; originally the site of the Neerim North Primary School. It was planted by G J Knight in 1903,a teacher, along with other species that he and the children planted on Arbor Days. There are a total of 7 Sierra Redwood trees and the other trees include Quercus robur, Q.canariensis, Fraxinus oxycarpa, Sequoia sempervirens, Pinus radiata, P. wallichiana, P. nigra, Pseudotsuga menziesii and Eucalyptus species
