FORMER LEUF'S HOTEL SITE - History
The hotel was established in 1874 by Hermann Leuf and wife Elizabeth nee Campbell. It also functioned as a store and post office. The hotel was leased to Patrick Shanahan in 1885 but by 1898 the hotel closed. The store and post office closed in 1916.FORMER LEUF'S HOTEL SITE - Interpretation of Site
The remains of the hotel exist near the less disturbed ground underneath the willow treees. The rest of the site was disturbed by post 1916 agricultural practices.
FORMER LEUF'S HOTEL SITE - Archaeological Significance
The site is in poor condition and has limited surface features. The sub-surface features are likely to be disturbed.
