This place is included on the Victorian Heritage Inventory, for its potential to contain historical archaeological remains associated with the settlement and growth of early Melbourne. Under the terms of the Heritage Act 2017 there is protection for all historical archaeology sites and objects in the state.

151-165 FRANKLIN STREET - History
1866 map - building on street frontage, also extending to rear of the site. 1905 - right of way sheds and yards at rear; series of two-storey buildings along Franklin Street frontage. The site was occupied by Anthony and Co Timber Merchants and Sawmills from the mid to late 19th century.
