CLOWS HOMESTEAD - History
Site of John Beilby's Pre-emptive Right and earlier Rev. Clow's run "Tirhatuan". Sold in 1854 to Chas. Herman Weber for 2000 pounds.
CLOWS HOMESTEAD - Interpretation of Site
Heritage Inventory Interpretation: Details of Willacy's excavation are difficult to follow, however, it seems the homestead site was preserved as a group of trenches and rubble with post holes possibly from wattle and daub or drop slab construction. A bottle dump and ash and charcoal from a fireplace(?) were also identified. Likely sites of other outbuildings may survive.
