Heritage Inventory History of Site: Property appears to have been built after original subdivision of area in 1890s. bricks in dairy appear to be hand made, exhibit wire cut marks.
ORIGINAL KEMP'S HOMESTEAD COMPLEX LOCATION - Interpretation of Site
Heritage Inventory Interpretation: Dairy and house probably first built and owned by Jim Brown who took up land after 1880s-1890s subdivision. Dairy is still extant but original Kemp Homestead has now been moved closer to Plenty River on Ashly Park property. relocation likely to have taken place in 1936-37.

ORIGINAL KEMP'S HOMESTEAD COMPLEX LOCATION - Heritage Inventory Description
Original 1880s-1890s location of Kemp's Cottage, including small brick dairy, before house moved to another site in 1936-1937. Site contains extant brick dairy, well and cobbled paving, and has high likelihood of featuring associated archaeological deposits such as cess pit, wells, kitchen dumps etc.
Heritage Inventory Significance: Moderate scientific significance, local cultural heritage significance.
Heritage Inventory Site Features: galvanised shed is recent. to immediate west is a brick dairy, cobbled /paved area of ground, water tank and well top. To west beyond are fruit trees.Probable that homestead located closer to Cypress wind break (according to oral sources) though ground visibility is poor.
