Mouse-proof Barn, Swanwater Road, COPE COPE - Physical Description 1
The mouse proof barn is a typical example of a simple utilitarian farm building. The building is situated in an area of flat crop land near the edge of a large paddock. The building is a rectangular gable roofed structure. The walls and roof are clad with lapped corrugated steel sheeting. The building is raised from the ground on a base with steel sheet cladding to impede the ingress on vermin. At one gable end is a sliding door of vertical timber and there is a ventilator near the top of the gable. Such buildings are characteristic in the grain growing areas and form local landmarks in the flat landscape.
