House - The Chalet, 171 Grampians Road, HALLS GAP - Physical Description 1
The house, 171 Grampians Road, Halls Gap, is set on a well-landscaped allotment comprising open grassed areas with numerous trees, shrubbery and flower gardens. There is a sizable setback from the front, which is bound by an early timber post and cyclone wire fence that is approximately 1200 mm high.
Due to the growth of creeper over the front and side of the house, some details of the house have been difficult to describe.
The two storey, early 20th century Picturesque Bungalow styled house is characterised by a steeply pitched gable roof form that traverses the site, together with two attic gables that project towards the road frontage. There are also pitched roof forms at the rear. These roof forms are clad in introduced green corrugated Colorbond. The house appears to have a rendered finish to the walls and there is a multi-paned timber framed double hung attic window in the side gable end. No other details could be determined.
