GOLDEN BOWER MINE - History
Heritage Inventory History of Site: The mine is believed to have commenced production in 1867 and intermittently operated by various leaseholders until 1939, when fires wiped out equipment and sheds at the site. GOLDEN BOWER MINE - Heritage Inventory Description
Although overgrown, the entrances to both the lower and upper adits can readily be found, as can many of the vertical shafts and the water races. Water races brought water to the mine from Cumberland Creek via the Reefton Spur and Donovans Creek and from Wooden Bottom, now Wooden Creek.
