HOGAN & KIRKPATRICK'S MILL SITE - History
Heritage Inventory History of Site: Hogan and Kirkpatrick established this small mill circa 1927. It was powered by a 14 hp steam engine. After operating at this site for 7 years, Hogan and Kirkpatrick moved to the Cockatoo area and later (1940s) back in the vicinity of Tomahawk Gap.HOGAN & KIRKPATRICK'S MILL SITE - Interpretation of Site
Brieflyt used for sawmilling in the early 20th C, the abandoned and regenerated as bushland. Appears that area is used as a source of water for the CFA. The original site card suggested picnic activities but this function not observed at the site in 2009.

No apparent archaeological features but vegetation very overgrownwhich may obscure features. Low significance.

HOGAN & KIRKPATRICK'S MILL SITE - Heritage Inventory Description
Mill site - cleared terraced area (15 x 90 metres) with a sawdust chute in the centre. Small sawdust heap and remains of a house. Large dugout was constructed after the 1939 fires. Tramway formation. The site is now used as a picnic/barbecue area.
