Volcano Reservoir, Reservoir Road, SWANWATER - Physical Description 1
The Volcano Storage of the St Arnaud Water Trust is a circular shaped water storage with a dam wall across about half of its circumference. The natural round shape of the storage lead to it being called "The Volcano" although it was not a result of volcanic activity. The storage has an earthen bank and a cream brick mid 20th century rectangular pump house. The water storage is set in relatively flat grassed land and there are stands of native trees nearby. The storage is linked on the north to the Swanwater west Channel which connects the storage to the Charlton Channel.
