Former School, 671 Traynors Lagoon Road, TRAYNORS LAGOON - Physical Description 1
The former Traynors Lagoon State School, 671 Traynors Lagoon Road, Traynors Lagoon, is set on a rural site surrounded by eucalypts and other trees and some shrubbery. The school building has been converted into a private residence. A plaque on a circular concrete pedestal with a granite headstone provides some historical recognition of the previous school.
The single storey, horizontal timber weatherboard, former School building is characterised by an early gable roof form that traverses the site, together with introduced skillion wings at the sides. These roof forms are clad in introduced corrugated Colorbond. An introduced brick chimney adorns the roofline.
Another surviving early feature of the design is the bank of timber framed multi-paned windows in the gable end. All other windows and doors have been introduced.
