PLENTY ROAD HOUSE RUINS - History
Heritage Inventory History of Site:
Very little information is known in regard to the history of this site. It is recommended that some historical research be undertaken to find out more regarding the origins of the site.
PLENTY ROAD HOUSE RUINS - Interpretation of Site
Heritage Inventory Interpretation: The site appears to be in poor condition although the presence of bluestone blocks indicates that there may be foundations present. Site could have been a small one or possibly two roomed dwelling. The nature of the artefacts indicate a possible date of at least the late nineteenth century.

PLENTY ROAD HOUSE RUINS - Heritage Inventory Description
Raised mound with 2 exotic pines at eastern end
Heritage Inventory Significance: The site is considered to be of local significance, and is considered to be representative as a possible site of early settlement in the district. It is in poor condition and assessed as being of moderate scientific significance.
Heritage Inventory Key Components: Historical artefacts on surface - mostly dark green (black) bottle glass and white porcelain ceramic fragments, some hand-made bricks and unidentified iron fragments. Bluestone blocks and wooden planking present, possibly bluestone foundations. Heritage Inventory Site Features: The site is located approximately 50 metres north west of the existing SEC Transmission powerlines. The site is contained within an area of approximately 50 metres by 50 metres and is marked at the eastern end by two exotic trees. An Aboriginal site (AAV 7922-0623) - an isolated artefact, comprising a quartz flaked piece was recorded on the surface of this site. Consultation with the Wurundjeri Tribe, Land Compensation and Cultural heritage Council Inc and Kulin Nations Cultural Heritage Organisation must take place if site is to be disturbed in any way.
