UNIDENTIFIED DEEP LEAD MINE - Heritage Inventory Description
/nFeatures of this unidentified deep lead mine area a mullock heap, bob pit, mining machinery foundations, and boiler house site.
Heritage Inventory Significance: The site has: Scientific significance because of its intactness and rarity Aesthetic values as a stark feature in the landscape
Heritage Inventory Key Components: Mullock heap: Small peaked mullock heap and shaft depression. Bob pit: Remnant (rear wall) of brick bob pit. Mining machinery foundations:Large brick tank-like engine bed, 75 ft x 9 ft x 6ft high. All mounting bolts have been removed. Boiler house site:Two boiler setting depressions. One wall still visible of the boiler setting nearest the engine bed. The wall is 18 ft long x 2 ft thick, and constructed of bluestone blocks.
