HO203 - Peers house. 15 Galatea Street, Diamond Creek - Physical Description 1
DESCRIPTION
This weatherboard and block fronted villa has a corrugated iron clad M-hip main roof, carved eaves brackets with panelled eaves entablature; a return convex form timber-framed verandah, cast-iron verandah (fan-pattern) frieze, cemented Victorian-era chimneys (unusual chimney location implies staged construction); and double-hunq sash windows. A weatherboard stable, with hipped corrugated iron clad roof and loft, is at the rear.
HO203 - Peers house. 15 Galatea Street, Diamond Creek - Integrity
Integrity
Changes to the house include: missing verandah detail (post capitals and mouldings gone), ogee profile guttering with cornerpieces replaced; a new picket fence and new colour scheme. The street view appears to have changed little since the 1904 image except for the addition of a large weatherboard garage.
