TOWER HILL ARTEFACT SCATTER - History
Artefacts appear to be mid 1800s and possibly earlier.
TOWER HILL ARTEFACT SCATTER - Interpretation of Site
Diffuse deposit of domestic artefacts possibly associated with former structure destroyed by quarry or road cutting. While artefacts in section are no longer visible (possibly eroded or cut back by road construction) there is potential for deposits to occur elsewhere in the bank.
Heritage Inventory Description
TOWER HILL ARTEFACT SCATTER - Heritage Inventory Description
Artefacts eroding from soil in bank about 20-30cm below groudn surface for about 50m along bank. Hill has been cut here by an abandoned quarry. Artefacts pre-date the quarry operation.
Heritage Inventory Significance: Unknown. Site has some archaeological potential.
