DANNS BRIDGE DAIRY & FARM SITE - History
Present owner says that early house was located approx. where present house is now. Early materials re-used to build current house in early-20th C. Dairy is largely subterranean and was buried/filled in by present owners. It is well-preserved. The 'chimney' at the N end of the dairy was to vent hot air from the structure. There were formerly stables just to the E of the dairy. Probably dates to 1860s-1870s.Heritage Inventory Description
DANNS BRIDGE DAIRY & FARM SITE - Heritage Inventory Description
Brick and stone chimney with residual wall foundations to either side. Field stone (sandstone) construction and coarse mortar. Scattered historical artefacts - has been disturbed.
Local significance as it preserves several elements associated with early rural settlement.
Recorded by Vincent Clark Date Recorded: 28/09/2000 Sandstone and brick ruins. Dairy ruin. Well and hand pump. Flagstone path. Artefact scatter.
