Site is a mining complex of offices, huts and sheds. Photograph of site in operation suggests feature 10 or 11 may have been engine room. The complex included the extraction of black coal from the mine tunnel (f8) which was processed on site evidenced by engine room (f10 or f11), crusher (f5) and mullock heap (f3). After processing coal would have been transported off site to the railway which ran alongside present South Gippsland Highway.
