RAAF Wirraway Aircraft - Veterans Description for Public
This Wirraway aircraft was dumped into Port Phillip Bay on 8 August 1959. In the Australian context, the Wirraway (Aboriginal for challenge) served as a trainer and communications aircraft until 1959. Today, Wirraways can be found at Bull Creek, WA, the Australian War Memorial, Moorabbin Air Museum and the RAAF Museum. Several more are under restoration.
