Royal Australian Navy Armament Depot - Veterans Description for Public
The former site of a Royal Australian Navy Armament Depot, on Somerton Road, was bought by the Commonwealth in 1944. The Army constructed the depot facility around the end of the Second World War, with the Navy becoming a joint user in 1949. In 1951 the Navy assumed total control, the facility was then decommissioned in 2000 and abandoned in 2001.
