BORE BEACH - History
OTHER THAN MARKED ON EARLY PLANS AND INFORMATION PROVIDED BY PETER MCLELLAN - VERY LITTLE. BURIALS ARE BELIEVED TO BE THE "HAYES" BROTHERS WHO WORKED ON THE BORE. THEY WERE WASHED FROM THE ROCKS WHILE FISHING; ONE BROTHER WAS DROWNED AND THE OTHER WAS SEVERLY INJURED, DYING SHORTLY AFTERWARDS. THE MEN DIED BETWEEN 1862 AND 1866.
