Drysdale War Memorial - Veterans Description for Public
The Drysdale War Memorial is located in the grounds of the former Drysdale Courthouse. It is a granite obelisk sitting on a plinth characterised by a rising sun insignia. The monument was unveiled at a large gathering by Mr. Lester in 1919. The monument is engraved with the names of soldiers from the Drysdale area who enlisted the in the First World War, never to return home. The names of servicemen who died in the Second World War were also added to the monument. The First World War inscription reads,
"In Memory of Drysdale of Drysdale Soldiers who fell in the Great European War 1914-1919
