Skipton War Memorial - Veterans Description for Public
The Skipton War Memorial, located at 3 Anderson Street, commemorates the lives of those who fell in the First and Second World Wars, Korea, Vietnam, the Gulf War and peacekeeping in East Timor. It is comprises of a lone granite monument, on a red brick paved area with a flagpole, and a surrounding red brickpanel mounted with plaques listing the names of those who served. The monument features only a bronze wreath and the inscription, 'Lest We Forget.'
The red brick wall also features a roll of honour for the Soldier Settlers who established estates in the Skipton District after the Second World War.
