Statement of Significance
Potentially of state-level significance. St Andrews grew out of the wealth gained during the gold rush when many Scots came to Ballarat. Potential presence of archaeological deposits relating to education. St Andrew's congregation included people of Chinese descent.

1850S: LAND SET ASIDE AS PERMANENT PRESBYTERIAN RESERVE.
1858: SMALL WOODEN BUILDING ERECTED FOR SERVICES, LATER USED AS SUNDAY SCHOOL AND SUBSEQUENTLY DEMOLISHED.
1864-1926: CONSTRUCTION OF EXTENT ST ANDREW'S KIRK.

Block of land encompassing St Andrew's Kirk (c1864), the original wooden church (c1858) no longer extant and school in NW corner (c1874-1912) - no longer extant. Originally set aside as permanent Presbyterian reserve in the 1850s.
Extent St Andrew's Kirk (c1864). Possible archaeological remains of original wooden church. (c1858). Possible remains of school (c.1874) - demolished 1949/50.
