POSSIBLE HOUSE SITE LYNDHURST - History
1925 topographical map shows two house sites in the area. Land first settled under Land Act in 1852. Purchased by James Tomlin in 1887 and held until his death in 1927. Property appears to have been used for grazing but now being considered for housing development.POSSIBLE HOUSE SITE LYNDHURST - Interpretation of Site
Site is the likely location of early land owner residence. Pastoralism represented by extant troughs, windmill and sheds. Some subsurface remains of houses may exist.
POSSIBLE HOUSE SITE LYNDHURST - Archaeological Significance
Low archaeological significance. Any archaeological deposits are likely to be of local significance representing life of early local settlers. Little development thus far on this site increases the liklihood of archaeological deposits.

Site of early pastoralism in area and early settlemetn. Site has undergone little development thus far resulting in the retention of features such as sheds, windmill and troughs.
