WISKAS DONO DOGS GRAVE - History
Wiskas Dono was the faithful pet of a Mr Scharlemann, and the circumstances of the dog's death on 1 July 1961, aged 11 years, are not known. Also not known is the reason for the burial at this spot. It may be that the dog died during a camping trip to Jorgenson Flat.

The grave is surrounded by bare red earth. A cross made of black tiles is embedded in the concrete, semi-circular headstone (stela). There is no plinth. A concrete slab measuring 0.6 metres square has been placed over the grave. This slab contains a pebbled cross, and the inscription "Wiskas Dono - Best Friend - RIP - 1-7-61/11 Years". (given in Rogers & Helyar as "Here lies Bono - mans best friend, 1-7-1961 - 11 years").
The grave is situated by and below Donnelly's Creek Track, and is in the rough line of a motorcycle track. The area is cleared of all vegetation except for very large to medium height gums. The grave is high above Jorgenson Flat, which is situated along Donnelly's Creek.
