ANTHONY WILLIAM SOUTHON GRAVE - Heritage Inventory Description
The grave is on a large mullock heap, 20 metres from the eastern edge of Donnellys Creek Track. A granite, rectangular headstone (stela) measuring 0.81 metres wide by 0.57 metres high by 0.075 metres thick, embedded in a concrete plinth, sits atop the mullock dump. It is inscribed in gold lettering "Anthony William Southon - 1960 - 1988 - Tony - Golden, golden heart, sunshine of our lives, you lived and laughed and loved and died, but you will never leave our side - Snowy Leslie Lisa Track". A medium-sized European tree (not identified) is growing immediatley behind the headstone.
Around the grave area are extensive alluvial gold workings on Donnellys Creek. The tree cover is light, with an occasional sapling and no large trees. The ground around the grave is grass-covered, and the terrain relatively flat and easily accessible.
