TAYLOR FAMILY GRAVE - History
The Point View Hotel was an accommodation and refreshment house about 10km out of Seaton, and between about 1863 and 1865 was managed by William Dudman. In about 1866, John Taylor and family came to reside at the hotel, described as a rough 6-roomed dwelling with horse stables nearby. The grave holds Mrs Taylor and on or two of her children. A tree on which Mrs Taylor's name was inscribed was destroyed by fire at some stage, erasing all trace of the christian names. The causes of death are not known, and the deaths were not officially recorded.

TAYLOR FAMILY GRAVE - Heritage Inventory Description
The grave is situated on the edge of a side-track from McEvoys Track. It is aligned east-west, and enclosed by a drystone rock wall measuring 4.1 metres long by 3.6 metres wide. The wall height is about 0.8 metres, but drops to 0.3 metres where there has been a small fall of rocks at the south east corner. The grave surface is earth, with smallish shrubs growing. The grave is marked with a routered sign post beside the access track. This sign reads "Pioneers Grave - Taylor family? - Circa 1860's".
The grave is some 200 metres north of McEvoys Track, and accessed via an old track. It is surrounded by very thick undergrowth, with an overstorey of mature, medium to large height gum trees. The ground in the vicinity is relatively flat. About 150m south of the grave, and 50 metres off McEvoys Track, is the site of the old Point View Hotel.
Physical Conditions: Good - the rock wall has suffered some damage, but is generally in sound condition.
