GREEN'S HOMESTEAD - History
The house was built and occupied by Mr Green, between c1920 and 1930. It is possible that Mr Green was attracted to the area as part of the Soldier Settlement Scheme, as he was a returned soldier. Mr Green was a blacksmith and constructed a blacksmith shop next to the homestead. Local people would bring their horses to be shod to the property. The house consisted of three rooms and was built of red gum with a tin roof and Baltic pine flooors. A lean-to at the rear of the house had a spinifex and brush roof and earthen floors.GREEN'S HOMESTEAD - Interpretation of Site
