The house, constructed c.1925, at 23 Esplanade, Williamstown.
How is it Significant?The house at 23 Esplanade, Williamstown is of local historic and aesthetic significance to the City of Hobsons Bay.
Why is it Significant?Historically, it is important for its strong associations with the important artist RW Sturgess. (AHC criteria A4 and H1)
Aesthetically, although altered it is recognizably a representative example of a large Interwar bungalow, which contributes to the historic character of the Esplanade precinct. (AHC criterion E1)
