STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE
The former Barrabool, is a late Victorian timber two storey house built in 1895. It is architecturally significant locally as a most eclectic and unusual design, although now lacking its roof belvedere. Of particular interest are the extraordinary and rare verandah brackets and bracing, as well as the Gothic doors and chimneys. It is historically significant as an unusual embodiment of away of life in the late nineteenth century. .

Residence "Barrabool" - Physical Description 1
A most unusual and carefully detailed, double-fronted Edwardian timber house. The roof is a single hip, almost pyramidal. The front is symmetrical. The verandah extends across and returns for a distance at left. It has a timber lozenge patterned balustrade, with Doric posts supported by delicate, almost . Japanese, bracket pairs. The posts are supported by extraordinary and large double bracing, terminating in pendants, in an umbrella effect. The side and front doors have Gothic lights, also with a fanlight at front. Chimneys are massive.
