Mount Martha Scout Memorial - Veterans Description for Public
The Mount Martha Scout Memorial, in Joseph Harris Park, commemorates 32 scouts who died fighting in the Second World War. The site comprises of a replica gateway of the entrance to the Brighton District Camp site at Lysterfield and features two of the original Lysterfield tablets, engraved in gold with the names of the 32 fallen. The memorial was officially unveiled on 8th November 2003 by Major General D. McLachlan and was funded with assistance from the Department of Veterans' Affairs, Victorian Scout Foundation, Bay-Park Joseph Harris Park Commitee and the Scout Heritage Centre.
