Statement of Significance
B Listed - Regional Significance
The former two storey brick residence of Dr. Mackin erected in 1872 is a picturesque Victorian eclectic style villa of the 1870's and a characteristic example of the residential work of local architect Joseph Watts. The house, which was located in a prestigious residential area, largely occupied by the medical and other professions in the 1870's is one of the most distinguished villa designs of an identifiable group centred on La Trobe Terrace, Geelong.
