Statement of Significance
C Listed - Local Significance
The two storey brick residence at 282 Latrobe Terrace was erected in 1877 for Mr. Noseda, hair stylist. Davidson and Henderson, the celebrated Geelong architectural firm, who dominated the profession in western Victoria in the 1870's, designed this two storey villa in a characteristic dichromatic brick mode with ornate timber verandah.
Subsequent extensive alterations and additions in an Edwardian mode by an unknown designer in the period, c 1890 - 1914, have all but obliterated the original character of the picturesque villa. The dichromatic brick patterns have been obscured by painting of the facades. The residence has some status in the elite Latrobe Terrace residential precinct established in the 1870s largely intact.
