BEAUFORT-LEXTON ROAD MINE FEATURE - Archaeological Significance
Despite the fact that mine sites are common in this region, Beaufort-Lexton Road Mine contains moderate archaeological significance. It has potential for in situ archaeological deposits relating to the early 20th century gold mine.

Heritage Inventory Description
BEAUFORT-LEXTON ROAD MINE FEATURE - Heritage Inventory Description
The Beaufort mine shaft and associated structures (brick and concrete footings and machinery) are located in a grazing paddock on Beaufort-Lexton and Adamthwaite Roads. The brick and concrete footings form rectangular structures on the landscape. There is also a concrete machine stand (with metal bolts protruding) and a small circular pit coupled by adjacent alluvial workings (test shaft perhaps). The mine shaft is characterised by timber reinforcing.
