44-50 KING STREET - History
The first buildings appeared on the block in 1861. The structures were a mixture of weatherboard and red brick, and were mostly domestic in use.One weatherboard building housed a carriage works and later a garage. By the early twentieth century, there were 8 buildings on the site. All buildings had been demolished by 1967 when the block was purchased by local council.44-50 KING STREET - Interpretation of Site
