Statement of Significance
Not Significant - However is situated within Heritage Precinct
While this dwelling has no formal heritage significance, it is potentially highly significant as an intact and rare example of interwar Modern Functionalist residential design in Geelong. It was designed in c.1936 by Ewen Laird of the Geelong architectural firm, Buchan Laird and Buchan, for his brother, George. Ewen Laird considered this dwelling his best design. In 1991, all the interior details including the built in furniture, kitchen, bathroom tiled window sills, etc., were also designed by Laird, and it was highly intact.
