Statement of Significance
STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE
A characteristic timber Californian Bungalow built in 1927. It is architecturally significant as representative ofthis domestic style and historically in embodying life in Newtown in the late 1920s.
INTACTNESS: Very good. The fence and rear garage are recent but appropriate. The brickwork has unfortunately been painted.
CONDITIONS AND THREATS: Excellent

Residence - Physical Description 1
DESCRIPTION
A doublefronted timber Californian Bungalow with gable roofs facing. The minor gable is set forward at left over the recessed verandah with postpairs and brick balustrade with a flat cap. Upper gables have timbers, with tiny triple brackets over shinglesjettying on triple bullnosed and single ogee brackets over timbering, then more bracket groups at left.
At right is a canted bay window with a flat roof on deep fretwork ogee brackets. Upper lights are leadlight. Central entrance doors are a pair, glazed in a quadrant with a scenic view in leadlight. Rafters are expressed and there are two skillion window hoods on palisade and deep ogee brackets, at right.
