Statement of Significance
STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE
The former George Synnot and Company Wool Warehouse in Clare Street, Geelong, although situated in the wool warehouse precinct, is of exceedingly low integrity and should not be listed on the 'Register of Historic Places for the Geelong Region. Built in 1874 as an addition to an earlier wool store for George Synnot and Co. to designs by Architects Davidson and Henderson, the warehouse has been partly demolished and the surviving section so altered that the original architectural qualities are expunged.
RECOMMENDATIONS: PROTECTIVE MEASURES
NOT recommended for listing on the Geelong Regional Commission Register
