STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE

Architecturally, a distinctive design in the Federation Bungalow manner, which is a major contributor to an important detached Edwardian villa precinct.

Residence - Physical Description 1
DESCRIPTION
This is a distinctive timber house, designed after the Federation Bungalow style and illustrating the style's Far Eastern influences. Combining hipped and gabled roofs, the house's pyramid-roofed tower, at the verandah corner, distinguishes it from similar contemporary houses both in Connor Street and Geelong generally. Typically, timber slatting provides the verandah ornament but the gabled roof vents, and fretted windows hood brackets and stepped profile round-head timber picket fence appears to be original.
EXTERNAL INTEGRITY
Generally original.
STREETSCAPE
Major contributor to Urban Area 8.8, supporting the Edwardian era architectural dominance of the street.
