GIBBARDS LANE RIVER FORD - History
The site comprises a stone ford and nearby stone structures. The histories of the stone buildings are unknown and have not been fully researched as part of the study. The ford is believed to have been the Campaspe River crossing prior to the construction of the Bridge in 1867 -18681, and its construction believed to be circa 18381
GIBBARDS LANE RIVER FORD - Interpretation of Site
The site comprises an early river crossing over the Campaspe prior to the bridge being constructed. There is also believed to be the remains of two stone buildings nearby, which have not been researched as part of this study.
