Memorial Window Description & History
Stained Glass Window at Anakie Presbyterian Church - Memorial Window Description & History
In October 1948, the Rev. EC Day ordered six windows from the Melbourne firm, Brooks, Robinson & Co. for the bluestone Anakie Presbyterian Church, originally built in 1865. Emblems were to be designed for quarry windows, each measuring approximately 78 x 30 inches. The emblems were to be combination of armed forces crests and Presbyterian symbols, namely AIF, Navy, Air Force and Merchant Navy crests with the Open Bible and Burning Bush. Two of the windows were to be left plain.
