Stained Glass Window at Heidelberg Repatriation [now The Austin] Hospital - Memorial Window Description & History
Alison McMillan was commissioned by Svetlana Karovich, on behalf of the Arts Administrator, Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital, to design and make a series of door panels for its Pastoral Care Unit. Each of the three panels was set in the top section of a door, giving both life and meaning to an otherwise plain space. The subjects combined the work of the hospital with the role of chaplains and pastoral carers and included imagery such as the Cross and Southern Cross and detailed painted panels of men at the front.Since then the hospital hasundergone extensive change and growth and the door panels have been moved to the new Chaplaincy area and Anzac Chapel.
