STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE
The commercial building at 120 Moorabool Street is of local significance for architectural and historic reasons. The upper facade retains a high degree of integrity and is an excellent example of the Neo-Grecian style. The building is of historic importance as, since it was constructed for this purpose in 1925, it has been continuously operated as a local banking facility.

DESCRIPTION
This NeoGrecian style commercial building sited on Moorabool Street is three storeys with a parapet and features simplified classical idioms. The upper two storeys have a high degree of integrity despite the ground floor being altered significantly. The rendered facade features three vertical bays of windows and recessed panels divided by double height pilasters. The windows are slightly recessed into the wall with unusual mouldings to the sills. The spandrels between floors are subdued to emphasise the verticality of the pilasters. The simplified classical entablature is supported by moulded brackets and is capped by a typical 1920s stepped element and mast. The building stands tall compared to the adjacent structures and the design elements emphasise its height. The ground floor has large glass windows and a door recessed in the facade.
