Why is it significant?
ThisAngophoracostata(Smooth bark apple gum)is an excellent example of the specieswith a well-rounded canopy and the unique twisted branches which are a characteristic of the species. It is outstanding for its size at a height of22m, girth of 1.29m and canopy spread of 22-23m.There are 4 examples of the species on the register that are taller: at Emerald (T12193 23.5m); Prahran (T11074, 24.5m) and Fitzroy North (T12340, 26-26.5m), however this example has a wider spread.It makes a significant contribution to surroundinglandscape of the school grounds.
