Statement of Significance
STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE
The former offices of Harvey Dann and Company was erected in 1915 to designs by W.K. Cleverdon, Architect. The conservative Renaissance Revivals style brick and cement rendered facade is a typical example of Cleverdon's work and is in strong contrast to the innovative Art Novvean themes 'developed' by vivas practitioners in Geelong at this time. The firm of Harvey, Dann and Co, an amalgamation of two pioneer millers and produce merchants has interesting early associates with primary industry in the Geelong regions, with both families making significant contributions to local activities and institutions.
