This Horizontal Elm grows in the front yard of a house in Mount Waverley, on a residential street.

This Horizontal Elm is significant for scientific and social reasons at the Regional level.
Why is it significant?
This Horizontal Elm is scientifically significant for horticultural value and rarity. An uncommon cultivar of Elm, this is an impressive specimen due to careful grafting seen on the trunk. It is a taller specimen than most in the Significant Tree Register (T11412 – Brighton, T11304 – Ballarat, T11658 – Mount Macedon). It is socially significant for its contribution to the landscape, dominating the block with its vibrant broad canopy.
