What is significant?
An individual Narrow-leaved Peppermint tree located on Mt Big Ben in Yackandandah. The tree is growing along the edge of Condons Road, just past the corner of Mt Big Ben Road.
How is it significant?
This Narrow-leaved Peppermint tree is significant for scientific and social reasons at the State level.
Why is it significant?
This naturally occurring Narrow-leaved Peppermint tree is scientifically significant for its large size (almost reaching the maximum potential in this locality). While there are younger specimens of the same species with better form, it is rare for them to achieve this age and size.
This Narrow-leaved Peppermint is also socially significant for its contribution to the natural indigenous forest landscape.
