Statement of Cultural Significance
The residence at 90 Mathews Road contains some of the original dwelling which is believed to have been the homestead built c1860 for the pioneering 'ODwyer and Fitzgerald families. The place is near Lake Connewarre and has remnant mature trees.
The residence at 90 Mathews Road has historic and social value to the community in the Leopold district because of its association with rural pioneers . It is of LOCAL cultural significance.

Residence - Physical Description 1
Description
The site is near Lake Connewarre, and has several mature trees in the vicinity. The single fronted , Victorian timber framed and weatherboard clad residence has a hipped roof clad in new corrugated iron.
It originally had a small verandah on the north elevation. The house has been altered with a new double return verandah with square timber posts and a balustrade, on the north elevation. The windows have been altered, and no chimneys are evident.
